Shadow. Roy narrowed his eyes, leaning on the trunk with eyes closed. He could feel the heartbeat of the guard up on the wall, beating at an unstable rhythm. Along with the other guards. He smirked, hearing their shuffle as a captain shouted an order. Weak. Too weak. The full moon rose to its peak, granting Roy unimaginable power to run through his veins. He took a deep breath, and jumped. Standing idly on the branch, he looked down to see a human exactly where he stood. This guard was scrawny and stiff, but clearly he had sharp eyes. It took a few minutes for him to survey the area and secure it, before the guard turned back towards the Wall.
Roy jumped, landing without a sound. Subtlety, stealth, finesse. All the characteristics of making a fine assassin. And killer. He turned around, leaning on the tree as he in turn surveyed the wall with keen eyes. A breeze flew by, making one guard shuffle and huddle. The others stood where they were, motionless. Suddenly, a rustle behind him sounded, causing him to stiffen.
How could I have not felt that?
OOC: Tis open, and I simply want Roy to meet new people. That, and I haven't written with him very much ;D

After losing her dog a mere few days ago, Molly was feeling a little lost while she was walking around. With a sigh she pushed through the underbrush as she headed towards the humans safe zone. She decided that maybe it was about time she tried to team up with other humans, Gran had taught her that other humans will only get her killed, but Gran had always been paranoid.
Molly had never been a fan of people, and just the thought of walking into a cramped area with lots made her sick. She wasn't sure how much longer she could survive on her own though. She still had a nagging fear in the back of her head that vampires were going to track her down and kill her for killing one of their own.
Getting caught up in her own thoughts, she wasn't paying any attention and tripped over a low lying branch. Stumbling, she made a lot more noise than she had wanted. Swearing silently to herself she pulled herself to her feet, and had an odd feeling that she was not alone in the woods. Pressing her back into a tree, she looked out into the woods, looking for any movement.
OOC: Yay, I get to play as Molly finally!

OOC: ;D
What kinda of ... Brows furrowed, Roy inclined his head a little, listening for the rhythm. He flexed his hands, smelling the scent. And smiled. Wow.
He placed a hand on the tree, feeling the vibrations, loud and clear, not to far from where he stood. The sound had no beating, but it was familiar enough to make him relax. A plain human was merely stumbling across the woods, the clumsiest human he'd probably ever known. He'd erased the possibility of the figure being a Vampire and Werewolf - there was no respect and stealth in her actions. Her scent was strong, even at a great distance, making his smile stay. Makes a hell of a lot of difference in this desolate place.
He raised an eyebrow as the movement stopped, probably good move too. Walking slowly forward, still with the smile on, he whispered aloud, "Anyone lost?"

The feeling of being watched slowly disappeared, Molly always figured it was the safest to assume the worst. In reality she was getting freaked out by birds or something watching curiously. She took a deep breath to calm down her beating heart.
Craning her head to her left she saw the outer wall of the human safe zone, it wasn't to far away and she would be theoretically safe. In the changing world, she would never be a hundred percent safe. A large fortress full of humans seemed like the perfect place for any of the other dominant races to attack, but it wasn't exactly her place to say so.
Molly felt ready to continue on her journey until a voice cut through the silence to ask of anyone was lost. Her rapid heartbeat started right back up, sinking down low she hid herself slightly behind the brush.

Damn. The slight rustle of slinking grass carried to his ears, making him frown slightly. It wasn't his place to force her (whoever she still is) to speak, but in truth, all he wanted to do now was to find out who she was. The depressing silence of the forest had gone to him, and now he wanted a change of pattern. Besides, she was confused. He felt the pattern of her heartbeat, the flex in her veins. The sense of danger was going down, and then it suddenly went back up. Perfect timing, he thought with a sigh.
Roy knew where she was, but he felt it more respectful to let her keep safe distance that she clearly wanted. "Look, don't worry. I didn't ask to hurt you. Just wanted to help, that's all."

Molly was able to calm her rapid pulse again, she hoped whoever was out there wasn't a werewolf or vampire. All of her hiding would be all in vain, they would know exactly where she was. Sighing she pushed herself up to a crouch and looked over the bush.
Hearing a voice, she calmed ever so slightly. She had learned over the years how to read people's voices, and this particular one didn't sound like it was out to hurt her.
Well except if he was a vampire, she was never able to figure them out. Molly figured it was because of their age, they had time to learn how to hide their feelings from mere mortals.
Standing up all the way, she faced the direction from where the voice had come from. A terrified look of mistrust was still on her face, but this was a start for her.
"Where are you?"

He had only started to wander of to the other direction when she whispered her reply. The voice sounded frail and agile, almost like she hadn't wanted to say anything at all. So what made you? Roy narrowed his eyes, pursing his lips. There was no sound of movement, no notion of any change - well, except for the faint black figure that appeared just a few feet in front of him. She made no movement of approach, no sign that she made any decision about him yet. This is going to be hard. In spite of himself, he smiled. He had all night to spare.
The place suddenly brightened, as the cloud hiding the Moon finally showed out the brilliant light. Her figure cleared before him - as if he needed sight to see what she looked like. Pale, lean and uncomfortable, he didn't need to read her face to see what she made an impression of him. And her outlines were still vague, even with the added light.
Roy raised a hand, as a sign of greeting, and smiled. "Over here. You alright?"

She hated the way her voice came out, sounding so weak but not speaking for so long had made it difficult to be loud at times. Molly made herself stop freaking out in the back of her mind, she was so close to the human safe zone. It was more than likely that this person was just another human like her. She wished that her dog hadn't run away back at Cortland, he could always sense when a person wasn't human. She accounted this for the reason she was able to have survived as long as she did on her own.
The clouds drifted by revealing the moon, casting a white glow through the woods. She was able to see his figure and knowing where he was made her feel better. At least if she had to run for it, she knew what direction she was running from. A knife was in the front pocket of her bag, ready to be used at the sign of danger. Molly very badly wanted to feel the handle of the blade in her hand but there was no need to look even more paranoid than she already did.
Molly wondered closer, close enough to get a good look at him. He didn't seem to be particularly dangerous but she had been wrong before.
"Are you from the safe zone?" She asked.

Oh, right. "Safe zone would depend on how you see it," Roy replied. His stance was relaxed, but still consciously alert. Any movement now, however subtle, would be heard as loudly as if magnified a thousand times. Besides, whoever she was, she was obviously human. Meaning she was very vulnerable.
"I uhh ... I prefer to refer to that place over there," he continued, gesturing with a thumb to wards the wall, "as a hole. No offense to you settlers, but we travelers prefer to do just that - travel." He scratched the back of his head, trying to imply that he was just a mere wanderer. The lady clearly needn't be freaked out even more than she needed to - assuming, that she was what she was actually acting out. Or had Vampires been so good as to make an artificial heart to fill their empty chests?
"So, do you come here often at the dead of the night?"

Molly sighed, it seemed as though this boy had the same idea as her. The safe zone was nothing but a big hole that trapped all the vulnerable humans in like at a zoo. If any of the other races decided to do a major attack against humans, the safe zone would be sure to be taken down. It would be like shooting fish in a barrel.
"I'm a traveler too, I thought maybe the safe zone would be...you know safe" Molly said.
She tried to figure out if he was a human like her or if she was being duped. He had a relaxed demeanor, most of the humans she had met were either terrified or cocky. Molly kept her distance still, she wasn't scared of him but she was far from trusting.
"Not really" She said frowning, Molly had problems sometimes picking up whether people were joking or not.

OOC: Sorry for the wait ;D
Right ...Roy inclined his head, narrowing his eyes at her reply. He meant for his question to be a joke, but ... not really? In these situations, he often really just laughed. But it was kind of hard reading someone who clearly had as perceptive eyes as him. Yamilla's better at this than I am ... He sighed, allowing a small laughter to come out of his lips. Scratching the back of his head, he took a step forward, slowly, allowing still the distance to be there and for her not to panic. "Listen, I meant that as a joke. I didn't mean ..." To make you frown?
With his situation now, making this girl an enemy was not on top of his 'to-do' list. With very different, but convenient reasons. He tried a small smile, and continued, "Sorry, I didn't know you were a traveler too. And yeah, I don't know if you would call that place safe. The walls are crumbling from the inside, and those guards are frightened by the very night." He stopped, looking at her. I've said too much. "My sister and I, we travel a lot. We've been around much." ...Too much. "So, what are you doing here? Just wandering around the woods all by yourself?"
